No responsible adult sets out to
create a program that places our youth, our adult volunteers or the
sponsoring organization at risk. Sadly, these trying times require
extraordinary measures to protect our youth and any successful youth
program from harm, suspicion and accusation.
The International Brotherhood of
Magicians (I.B.M.) and Magic Youth International (M.Y.I.) have
adopted a detailed set of policies designed to reduce opportunities
for abuse within this promising youth program. These policies focus
on volunteer selection and on maintaining sensible barriers to
abuse. Compliance with these guidelines is
absolutely mandatory for any Ring with even one participating Junior
Member.
These policies will be posted here in the near future for parental
and peer review.
